Through our A.R.I.S.S.E. tutoring program, students learn productive study skills.

Since its inception in 1993, CYFC has worked to leverage resources from the business, volunteer, academic, and community sectors and help combine them into a powerful collaborative force to guide, affirm children in achieving their dreams. CYFC has an outstanding record of achievement and has been recognized locally and nationally for its accomplishments in improving student outcomes. For example:

• CYFC’s work in foster youth education was recognized by Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in June 2013 for improving the academic performance and graduation rates of its program participants and for helping foster youth to graduate.

• In 2014, CYFC was selected by the Stuart Foundation to serve as Special Advisor to the Education Equals Partnership Initiative, a collaborative of key stakeholders throughout California and Washington that are working to improve educational outcomes for students in foster care.

• CYFC was selected by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in a national study examining best practices in mentoring. • CYFC is one of just two agencies in Los Angeles to receive a prestigious Investment in Innovation (i3) grant from the Federal Department of Education to replicate it’s A.R.I.S.S.E. Program Model for foster youth at four school districts in Los Angeles County.

• CYFC was one of 16 organizations out of 1,152 applicants receiving Next Generation funding from the Corporation for National Community Service.
